I know, the opera is not everyone’s cup of tea but I had to give it a shot in order to decide whether or not it was for me. Not knowing what to expect, I put my thinking cap on and researched the story line prior to attending. Although this show is performed in Italian, there were sub-titles walking the audience through the performance.

What to wear to the opera you ask? Some audience members wore long ball gowns and perfectly tailored tuxedos, and some were dressed business casual with slacks and a button up. I chose to wear something in between as you can see. 🙂
My overall impression was a good one; the story and performers were fabulous with incredible talent I was very impressed. It was performed in 4 acts with an intermission after the second act. By the middle of the 4th act, I was getting sleepy I’m not gonna lie. It felt repetitive and overly dramatic..which isn’t a bad thing, but oh was it making me sleepy! Needless to say, I was delighted with the performance overall and am happy that I got the opportunity to experience it.
